PELA CFDC is a non-profit corporation whose purpose is to encourage economic development and entrepreneurship in the Prince Edward and Lennox and Addington counties. Funded by the Government of Canada, through Fednor and Industry Canada, and also delivering Ontario provincial programmes, the Corporation provides loans and grants as well as training, advice and business planning to new and existing businesses and to individuals beginning new ventures.

The Corporation is governed by an independent, volunteer, Board of Directors, elected annually by Members of the Corporation. A full time staff of nine, including an Executive Director, delivers the programs and activities of the Corporation from offices in Picton and Napanee.

The Corporation is seeking candidates for appointment to the Board of Directors. Qualified individuals will have varied experience in many sectors, including business, education, the public service, manufacturing and services. They will have a strong interest in developing and guiding the delivery of programs and projects that will make a real difference to individuals and the economic growth and strengthening of the communities the Corporation serves.

There is an immediate vacancy for two Directors who will be resident in the County of Lennox & Addington.

The Corporation is also seeking new Members who also will come from a variety of economic and social sectors and backgrounds. Members play an important role in the Corporation: They help ensure that its policy development, management and operations reflect the interests and diversity of the people and communities in the two counties. They provide a breadth of experience, balance and judgment by participating in the work of the Corporation through the several operational sub-committees of the Board, as well as in other less formal activities. Membership allows individuals who may wish to serve their community to do so without assuming the broader responsibilities of Board Directors.

Members will be resident in either Prince Edward County or Lennox & Addington County.
