PELA CFDC hosted Discovery Workshops in Picton and Napanee last week as part of the Knowledge Impact in Society Project – a 3 year, $300,000 initiative led by The Monieson Centre, Queen’s School of Business. The project aims to connect academic knowledge with economic development needs in rural eastern Ontario. The workshops gave community leaders the opportunity to let academics know what types of research will be useful for economic development in Prince Edward and Lennox & Addington Counties.

The issues identified in the workshop will be addressed by academics and a number of knowledge-based resources will be made available in the coming months that will directly assist community stakeholders and economic development practitioners. For more information on the Knowledge Impact in Society Project and access to a number of free resources (i.e. how to documents, best practices), please visit www.easternontarioknowledge.ca.
