Vickiís Veggies

Vickiís Veggies is a small family farm located in Black River, Prince Edward County. They provide a wide variety of ecologically grown vegetables, specializing in over 100 varieties of heirloom tomatoes. They also produce a range of value-added agriculture products including paprika, hot sauce, barbeque sauce and ketchup.

EODP investment in an expanded cold storage facility provided more space for products to be stored between harvest and sale, extending the availability period of produce. Investment in specialized labelling equipment created a more attractive finished product while also meeting legislative labelling requirements and addressing the cost and labour challenges faced by a small volume producer when printing and  applying small runs of products with many different labels.

“Dealing with the EODP was incredibly easy and the process required minimal time.  Staff was very helpful." - Howard Mahon, Wilton Tack

“Without PELA CFDC's support we would not have had the ability to take those much needed first big steps. You believed in us at a time when few did.” - Quincy Emmons, Fire X Protection

“We recommend the EODP funding to any business that believes in continuous improvement and development, and who is looking to fast forward business growth.” - Angela Lees, Calderwood Automation
