Napanee Beer Company Receives Eastern Ontario Development Program Support

The Prince Edward/Lennox & Addington Community Futures Development Corporation (PELA CFDC) today announced up to $25,000 in funding for the Napanee Beer Company, through the Eastern Ontario Development Program (EODP).

This investment will result in the implementation of production and packaging equipment that will create eight jobs by the fall of 2016. This project, has leveraged $219,311 in private investment, and will assist in the establishment of a state-of-the-art production facility in Napanee. The company will be manufacturing a variety of beer products for market across the province.

The Eastern Ontario Development Program (EODP) advances economic development in rural eastern Ontario. Through EODP, FedDev Ontario is collaborating with Community Futures Development Corporations (CFDCs) in eastern Ontario to promote the growth of new and existing businesses in rural communities.

  • The Napanee Beer Company is a startup craft brewery. The company’s production facility in the Town of Greater Napanee includes an on-site retail shop and offers brewery tours.
  •  PELA CFDC is one of the 15 Community Futures Development Corporations (CFDCs) in eastern Ontario funded by the Eastern Ontario Development Program (EODP) through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario). CFDCs deliver a wide variety of programs and services to support community economic development and small business growth. They employ local staff and are each governed by a volunteer board of directors, made up of local residents representing the community.
  • FedDev Ontario invests $48 million in funding through the 15 individual CFDCs located in eastern Ontario.
